Welcome to Friday Finds for 11-10-2024. Wow, what a week!! I’ve been out to breakfast with friends, Christmas shopping has begun, and I am still trying to find a replacement furnace. My article was published in Lou Kemp’s newsletter, and I hope to gain some traction from that endeavor. The BBNYA Semi-finalist tour is going great. Until December 4, a new post featuring a semi-finalist will be posted every day. Look for the hashtag #BBNYA2024 on ALL social media sites to follow along. The US elections will be decided next week. At least, I hope it's all done by the time I next email you. This has been the longest election season ...EVER! All other announcements will be at the close of this email. Weekly Friday Finds | 11-10-2024 | Trivia Time Here's this week's trivia question: What common household item can be used as a makeshift paintbrush in crafting to create unique textures and patterns? Leave your answer in the comment section to be entered into this month’s trivia contest. Since we took a short break from the trivia section, I will let the drawing go until the end of November. The answer to last week’s question: What condiment was used for its medicinal qualities in the 1800s? I would have bet it was mustard. I have heard of mustard plasters. Good thing I’m not a betting person. Ketchup was actually used for medicinal purposes in the 1800s! In the 1830s, Dr. John Cook Bennett claimed that tomato ketchup could cure ailments like indigestion, diarrhea, and jaundice. He even made “tomato pills” that were marketed as health supplements. Reader, Welcome to Friday Finds for 11-08-2024. How are you today? I'm doing great...busy, but things are going well.
