It's Holiday Season in the Friday Finds for 11-01- 2024

Welcome to Friday Finds for 11-10-2024.

Wow, what a week!! I’ve been out to breakfast with friends, Christmas shopping has begun, and I am still trying to find a replacement furnace.

My article was published in Lou Kemp’s newsletter, and I hope to gain some traction from that endeavor.

The BBNYA Semi-finalist tour is going great. Until December 4, a new post featuring a semi-finalist will be posted every day. Look for the hashtag #BBNYA2024 on ALL social media sites to follow along.

The US elections will be decided next week. At least, I hope it's all done by the time I next email you. This has been the longest election season ...EVER!

All other announcements will be at the close of this email.

This week's website edition features:

  • Blog posts with fantastic giveaways
  • Pumpkin Spice Dip
  • The BBNYA Semi-finalists Spotlight Tour continues
  • Orange-glazed Pecans
  • A craft sale you don't want to miss
  • Trivia & Author of the Month News
  • So much more!!

Weekly Friday Finds | 11-10-2024 | Trivia Time

Here's this week's trivia question:

What common household item can be used as a makeshift paintbrush in crafting to create unique textures and patterns?

Leave your answer in the comment section to be entered into this month’s trivia contest. Since we took a short break from the trivia section, I will let the drawing go until the end of November.

The answer to last week’s question:

What condiment was used for its medicinal qualities in the 1800s?

I would have bet it was mustard. I have heard of mustard plasters. Good thing I’m not a betting person.

Ketchup was actually used for medicinal purposes in the 1800s! In the 1830s, Dr. John Cook Bennett claimed that tomato ketchup could cure ailments like indigestion, diarrhea, and jaundice. He even made “tomato pills” that were marketed as health supplements.

Weekly Friday Finds |10-25-2024 | Indie Authors/BBNYA

I'm spotlighting one BBNYA semifinalist every day until Dec 4, 2024! (All 59 of them!) I decided to give them a separate section in the Friday Finds for now. These Independent Authors deserve kudos for outstanding books in all genres. Click here to see this week's winners!

Gina's Friday Finds | May 22, 2026 Hi Reader, As Memorial Day weekend approaches, I’ve been thinking a lot about the moments that quietly bring people together — outdoor dinners that stretch long after sunset, favorite family recipes, stories shared around the table, and the simple comfort of spending time with people we love. This week’s Friday Finds leans into that softer side of the long weekend with thoughtful books, meaningful reflections, cozy outdoor inspiration, and a few simple ideas...

Hi , Reader, This week’s Friday Finds somehow turned into a celebration of Spring, slower afternoons, and all the little things that make life feel softer and more peaceful. Honestly, I didn’t even realize that was the theme while I was putting everything together. Then suddenly there were hammocks, butterfly houses, outdoor cooking tools, calming craft projects, and books that felt perfect for reading with the windows open. I suppose my brain officially decided Winter is over. ——————— One of...
