Reader, Welcome to Friday Finds for 11-08-2024. How are you today? I'm doing great...busy, but things are going well. I'm still deciding on changes I will be making on the website and to the newsletter for 2025. I am soliciting advice from my readers on several points. I plan to have a few polls to help me decide. But I could NOT face anything to do with polls and voting just yet. No matter your thoughts on the American election, we ALL need a break from that rhetoric! So let's relax and have fun this week. Weekly Friday Finds | 11-08-2024 | Trivia Time This week's trivia question is more of a fun question that everyone can answer. There is no need to stress or look anything up. Let's just have some laughs. If you could jump into a pool of anything, what would it be full of? Leave your answer in the blog comments to be entered into this month’s trivia contest, or reply to this email. The next trivia drawing will be at the end of November. Last week’s question: What common household item can be used as a makeshift paintbrush in crafting to create unique textures and patterns? We had lots of good answers to last week’s question. A sponge and a fork were two of my favorites. I’m getting ready to do some painting this weekend. I may have to try those. Several people got double entries in the trivia jar because they are also blog subscribers! Make sure you are subscribed to both the newsletter and the blog. Weekly Friday Finds |10-25-2024 | Indie Authors/BBNYA I'm spotlighting one BBNYA semifinalist every day until Dec 4, 2024! (All 59 of them!) I decided to give them a separate section in the Friday Finds for now. These Independent Authors deserve kudos for outstanding books in all genres. Click HERE to learn about this week's authors and books! ~~~~~~~~~~ Once the BBNYA Spotlight tours wrap up in early December, I'll be looking for news and announcements from Indie Authors. Send me your news, and I will share it wherever possible. Weekly Friday Finds |10-25-2024 | Recipes The classic Thanksgiving dinner includes old-time favorites that never change: turkey, gravy, stuffing, potatoes, veggies, and pie. What are your favorites? I always have Roast Turkey, Mashed Potatoes with homemade noodles over the top, sweet potato casserole, corn, fluffy rolls, and a relish tray for everyone to munch on while they wait for dinner. We finish up with coffee and pie, usually pumpkin and pecan. When guests ask, "What can I bring?" I tell them, "You know what I'm serving. Bring something your family loves." So we usually have extra dishes of stuffing & green bean casserole because they know I don't care for those and won't be making them. Lol! While I provide my regular pies, we always have plenty of cookies, cakes, brownies, and savory snacks for everyone. Here's a favorite recipe for Sweet Potato Casserole: This comforting dish combines mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar, butter, and a hint of cinnamon. It is crowned with pillowy, soft marshmallows and toasty pecans. Weekly Friday Finds |10-25-2024 | Books Watch for my review of this fabulous book later this weekend. It's perfect for all families, especially those interested in foster care. ~~~~~~~~~~ Have you heard of Novellas in November? While I am not participating this year, I thought I would share a post from a blogging friend who is. She's offering up some wonderful novellas for you to read. Visit The Reading Ladies Book Club for a great list of novellas! I've already found several on Carol's list that I want to read soon. Weekly Friday Finds |10-25-2024 | Crafts This simple yet elegant knitted fall hat is perfect for beginners as well as more seasoned crafters. You can never go wrong with hats. They are fast, fun, and as complicated as you want them to be. I love colorwork, but occasionally, I need a mindless project where I'm not switching yarns or counting pattern reps. I just knit! Please share the 11-01-2024 Friday Finds with your friends and family. The blog follower and email subscriber list is growing. The more followers and clicks I get, the more fun finds I can bring you. If you are feeling exceptionally generous…donations are always welcome! See you soon for more Weekly Friday Finds Fun! Gina |

Until December 4, a new post featuring a semi-finalist will be posted every day. Look for the hashtag #BBNYA2024 on ALL social media sites to follow along. The US...
